Well established local joinery business, Morris Joinery in Bicton, has expanded its team with a new apprentice joiner to bolster its growing team and growing business.
Patrik Cotton (21) joined the established team at Morris Joinery as a Level 3 apprentice after studying the trade at college.
He decided to go into joinery after borrowing his father’s toolkit to craft original and unique pieces. He made the decision to join the team at Bicton to continue learning his craft whilst gaining invaluable hands-on experience.
Patrik said: “I am really pleased to be working for such as well-known and respected company who are able to offer such a breadth of projects in joinery from traditional sash windows to crafting furniture.
“I’ve already been exposed to a range of projects and put theory into practice. I enjoy being out on site meeting customers with my manager and working with a range of trades.
“Everyone has been really friendly offering me lots of pointers and tips to help me grow my skills and set me on the right path to become a master joiner. I hope that I can learn as much as possible from each person in the workshop.”
He is the latest apprentice to walk through the joinery doors at Morris Joinery and Patrik has his sights firmly set on becoming a fully qualified and highly-skilled joiner with a wealth of creative knowledge in developing bespoke works.
Steve Granda, Joinery Manager said: “We really enjoy being able to nurture and mould our apprentices into the joiners that they aspire to be, whilst offering them every opportunity to progress and grow within the wider company.
“Patrik wrote to us expressing an interest in working for us and after meeting with him we knew immediately that he would be an asset to the company. He is a fast learner and has a strong work ethic which will enable him to go far in his joinery career.”
