A Shropshire graphic designer who built her first website at 17 has swapped her home base for offices owned and managed by Morris Properties so she can grow her business.
Kate Dalgliesh trades as ETAK Creative Ltd and has taken a 161ft² first floor space at the Wrekin Professional Centre in the grounds of our Wrekin Court Nursing Home in Wellington.
The suite is the smallest at the site but represents a significant step for the new tenant who has also taken on her first apprentice through training provider Matrix Training in Hortonwood.
Kate explained: “I was working from a custom built ‘lady cave’ shed at my home in Wellington but it had no facilities and was not suitable for business growth. I realised I needed to move to premises which gave me what I needed, were close to home and had good motorway links as I have clients over the Midlands.
“Wrekin Professional Centre is just the job and really suits me and my business plans.”
Kate established ETAK Creative, Kate spelt backwards, in 2005 after graduating with honours from Coventry University. She designs websites, local magazines and offers print and marketing services including search engine optimisation.
Kate has also developed community links by agreeing a three-year sponsorship of AFC Telford United Under 14s girls team.
Unit 3.4A at the centre on Holyhead Road was let to Kate through Barbers Commercial. She joins a range of businesses at the centre including a day nursery, physiotherapist, osteopath, Chinese herbalist and a health and fitness centre.
David Lowe of Barbers Commercial said: “Wrekin Professional Centre is popular because it offers good quality office accommodation and onsite parking in a desirable location. It is safe, quiet and easily accessible with good transport links. Junction 7 of the M54 is just a mile away.”
