AFFORDABLE APARTMENTS TO RENT COMPLETED IN SHREWSBURY

A new residential development designed to offer affordable rent for the over 55’s in Shrewsbury has been completed by Morris Property and Severnside Housing.

Glebe House has been constructed on the site of a former plumbing supplies business in Abbey Foregate, and consists of 27 two bedroom apartments, over three floors, which have been designed to sit sympathetically within their surroundings, and maximise views of the Abbey Church.

We were awarded the contract from Severnside Housing and is the first project we have worked together on.

Steve Bowen, Contracts Manager said: “We were delighted to have been awarded this contract as we are always keen to work on local projects, especially with Severnside Housing who offer a great service to the residents of Shropshire.”

Each of the timber-framed apartments have high quality kitchens and bathrooms and UPVC windows, whilst 22 of the apartments have glazed Juliet balconies, adding an attractive feature for prospective residents.

The ground floor is elevated above surrounding ground levels, enabling the area below to provide secure car parking, with lift access to all floors.

Helen Pugh, Business Development Manager for Severnside Housing, said: “We are extremely pleased with the high quality workmanship of these apartments and we look forward to working with Morris Property again on future developments”.

Severnside Housing is one of Shropshire’s largest social landlords owning more than 5,400 properties in Shrewsbury and the surrounding areas.
