Morris Property bids farewell to esteemed colleague

We bid farewell to Ian Carswell this week, who has retired after an illustrious 11-year tenure with the company. Ian’s departure marks the end of a remarkable career spanning two decades of dedicated service as Contracts Manager.

Numerous achievements distinguish Ian’s professional journey at Morris Property; his personal highlight being the development of a Georgian-style private residence in Staffordshire. This prestigious project saw Ian collaborating with an interior designer to create a characterful home for a private client.

Throughout his career, Ian has been known for his unwavering commitment, expertise, and collaborative spirit. His most cherished professional accolade came in 2019 when he was honoured with the ‘Shooting Star’ award as part of Morris’s 150th anniversary celebrations. This prestigious award, voted for by his colleagues, recognised Ian’s outstanding contributions to Morris Property and his embodiment of “nothing less than 110% commitment to whatever task is presented”.

When reflecting on his career and the people he has worked with, Ian expressed his difficulty in choosing a single favourite colleague, emphasising the strong bonds and friendships he has formed over the years. His collaborative approach and ability to inspire others have left an indelible mark on the team.

Ian’s retirement plans are already filled with adventure. Next week, he will embark on a well-deserved trip to Croatia with his family, and he is eagerly exploring new ways to enjoy his newfound free time.

“We are immensely grateful for Ian’s dedication and contributions to Morris Property,” said James West, Chief Operating Officer at Morris Property. “His expertise and enthusiasm have enriched both our team and projects over the years. We wish him all the best in his retirement and look forward to hearing about his new adventures.”
