As part of our efforts to mark Mental Health Awareness Month, we welcomed Shropshire Mental Health Support to our Stadium Point and Hortonwood 45 sites – complete with treats from Crystal’s Cupcakes!
Sara Emsley was on hand to offer 1:1 support over a cupcake to those who wanted it, and to let our on-site team know about all the further support available to them and their colleagues. As part of a group discussion, individuals had the opportunity to share their own experiences and everyone agreed that reaching out and talking to someone is a source of comfort when dealing with mental health struggles.
We all know that construction can be a rewarding and varied industry to work in, but it’s also one where pressures can be high. While it might feel tough to speak up about challenges or ask for help, we have trained Mental Health First Aiders on most of our sites, who are there to support anyone who needs it.
