A specialist engineering consultancy serving clients mainly overseas looked closer to home for its new base in Shrewsbury.
Itasca Consulting Ltd has relocated to Abbey Lawn office park, which we own and manage. It has agreed a five-year lease on a 1015 ft² ground floor office suite at Observer House.
General Manager Will Flynn said: “We started in Shrewsbury in 1997 and wanted to stay in the town centre. When the lease on our former office expired, we looked to find something smaller and more cost effective. Abbey Lawn is well located and well maintained; the plan is to grow our business here over the next 12 months.”
Itasca Consulting specialises in providing micro seismic monitoring of rock masses and concrete structures, radioactive waste storage, carbon dioxide storage, civil engineering and laboratory testing industries.
It provides software products, equipment and consultancy services for universities, research institutes and companies engaged in geophysics in China, North America and Europe.
The new office became available when tenant Midland Heart surrendered their lease after the loss of a local contract which meant it no longer needed a presence in Shrewsbury. Alessio Dyfnallt of Cooper Green Pooks acted on Midland Heart’s behalf in the surrender negotiations and assisted with the letting to Itasca.
