Description
Work has begun to remodel a site on Charlton Street to create a purpose-built nursery for Oakengates Nursery School in Telford. The project involves the demolition of the former nursing home, Cartlidge House, and the construction of the new nursery including associated external works.
The project has been commissioned as part of plans to regenerate Oakengates Theatre with the help of the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund. As part of the transformative project, the nursery currently located within the theatre premises will be relocated to the new site on Charlton Street – just a third of a mile away.
The new nursery will have the capacity for 108 children, with dedicated parking, modern amenities, and landscaped outdoor space, providing an immersive and optimal learning environment for young children.
