Oakengates Nursery School is a purpose-built facility designed to meet the educational needs of young children in the local community. The nursery has a capacity for 108 students and is an essential part of improving early years education facilities in the area.
Commissioned by Telford and Wrekin Council as part of the wider Oakengates Theatre regeneration project, the initiative received vital funding through the UK Government’s Levelling Up Fund.
Built on Charlton Street, just a third of a mile from its previous location next to Telford Theatre, the project involved the demolition of the former nursing home, Cartlidge House, and the construction of the new nursery building, including associated external works.
Facilities
This new build project focuses on creating an inspiring and nurturing learning environments for young children. The nursery features landscaped outdoor play areas where children can engage in imaginative play, physical activity, and a connection with nature.
In addition, the new nursery includes ample parking facilities for staff and parents, ensuring accessibility for all who visit.
