Claremont Baptist Church, Shrewsbury
Project Specifications
- Client: Claremont Baptist Church
- Sector: Joinery & Heritage
- Completion Date: 2012
This ambitious project saw us rebuild and restore a town centre church while carefully retaining and improving its historical façade.
The new-look building, with a welcoming and more flexible interior space, was designed to better meet the needs of the congregation and the wider community.
The skills of our in-house craftspeople were called on to restore the striking façade. The main entrance was replaced with glass doors, a disabled access and a new floor level.
Retaining Historical integrity
Our construction team worked in conjunction with archaeological consultants, Cotswold Archaeology, to ensure the restoration was in line with the site’s historical importance and any archaeological finds were recorded and preserved.
Good working relationships with Baptist Church representatives and neighbours were established. The team also worked to keep the adjacent car park as fully functional as possible during the construction.
