Apprenticeships
People make the difference. We’re great believers in nurturing home-grown talent, training and investing in our local community to help reduce skill shortages and create futures in construction.
We help young people to thrive with apprenticeships and work experience opportunities on site and in the workshop.
Conor Roberts
We have a track record of success on our construction sites where our active apprenticeship programme for site managers includes Conor Roberts who joined us from Shrewsbury Colleges Group and has worked his way up to Assistant Site Manager.
Tom Potts
Tom started his apprenticeship with Morris Property in September 2023, working with the experienced team on site at Stadium Point Business Park on Oteley Road. Mentored by Site Manager, Pete Allworth, and Contracts Manager, Phil Griffiths, Tom is learning on the job and applying his theoretical knowledge into practical situations.
Arran Johnston
Working alongside our experienced joinery team, our apprentice joiners are learning valuable skills in the workshop four days a week. Liam, George and Arran are working towards their Level 2 NVQs at Shrewsbury Colleges Group.
Work Experience
Our work experience placements are a great opportunity for Year 10 students to learn more about careers and roles within the construction industry. Tom joined us this summer and spent time learning about roles within our team and wrote a shift tender with our Quantity Surveyor Alex.
Industry Networking
Expanding access to apprenticeships programmes and facilitating networking opportunities with our sub-contractors ensures our apprentices and students gain access to opportunities within the sector. We want our rising stars to meet a great network of tradespeople which in turn will pave the way for long-term career success.
